NZ COVID Tracer APP
Now that New Zealand is at level 2 of the Covid-19 response, effective contact tracing is very important. The NZ COVID tracer app has been released and can be downloaded for Apple and Android phones. As you visit retailers and businesses you will check-in by scanning the bar code they have on display to register you have been at that location.
You can learn more about the tracer app from the Ministry of Health website.
How to Download the COVID Tracer App
If you are using an iPhone, visit the App Store. For Android phones, visit Google Play.
Concerned about privacy?
According to the NZ Privacy Commissioner, the app has been developed using Privacy by Design principles, which put privacy at the foundation of the design process. As a business, if you wish to display a QR code for customers and clients to scan, you can follow the instructions online at https://www.business.govt.nz/covid-19/contact-tracing
You will need:
- A RealMe Login
- A New Zealand business number
- Authority of your business
- To register with Business Connect

Business Debt Hibernation
If you are a company, society, trust, or other type of organisation, and you are experiencing financial stress due to Covid-19, you may be eligible for the government debt hibernation initiative. It gives you some protection from your debtors while you set up a payment arrangement. Debts still need to be paid off in full. Sole traders are not eligible and will need to look at the cash flow loans and support option.
